Data Analyst (Contract)
Required Skills and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
3+ years of hands-on experience performing data analysis in complex system environments
Advanced proficiency with analysis of large datasets using Microsoft tools such as Excel, Access, PowerQuery, PowerBI,
Strong working knowledge of SQL for data analysis and validation
Experience analyzing data structures and relationships within enterprise or legacy systems
Ability to clearly document analysis results and communicate findings to technical and non-technical audiences
Preferred Skills
Experience supporting ERP implementations or data migrations
Familiarity with Snowflake or modern cloud-based data platforms
Exposure to AI-assisted query or data exploration tools
Experience working in environments with multiple source systems and no single authoritative dataset
Manufacturing or industrial enterprise experience
Position Summary
The Data Analyst will work closely with Information Systems, Business Analysts, and business stakeholders to investigate data sources across legacy applications, identify data quality issues, analyze structures and relationships, and support data conversion and validation activities. This role requires strong analytical skills, comfort working independently, and the ability to navigate ambiguity in a complex data landscape.
Essential Job Functions
Investigate and analyze data from multiple legacy systems in support of ERP migration and system decommissioning initiatives
Identify data quality issues such as duplicates, inconsistent values, missing relationships, and conflicting definitions across systems
Perform manual data analysis and cleanup activities using Excel, CSV extracts, and SQL queries
Reconcile data between sources and assist with validating data before and after conversion activities
Analyze legacy system data models and table structures to understand how data is stored, calculated, and related
Document data findings, source characteristics, assumptions, and recommendations for cleanup or consolidation
Work collaboratively with Business Analysts to support business process analysis with accurate, validated data
Interact directly with end users and subject matter experts to clarify data definitions, ownership, and usage
Assist in identifying authoritative data sources when multiple systems contain overlapping or conflicting information
Support the transition to a Snowflake-based data environment by contributing to data analysis and modeling readiness
