About the role
Our client, a global industrial equipment manufacturer, needs a Financial Analyst to help its regional finance team through month-end and year-end close. You will analyze revenue and gross margin, support forecasting, and turn large data sets into clear answers in Excel. This is a fast-paced role for someone who can step in, pick up the work and get it done.
What matters most
Expert Excel. Lookups, pivot tables, large data sets and building models from scratch. If you would not rate your Excel a 9 or 10 out of 10, this is not the right fit.
Month-end close. Hands-on experience closing the books, completing entries and explaining variances.
Pace. Comfortable with deadlines during a busy fourth quarter and year-end close.
Responsibilities
Revenue and gross margin forecasting for equipment and aftermarket parts: plans, quarterly updates and ad hoc projections. Compare actual results to targets and work with intercompany partners on inputs and outputs (about 40%).
Month-end close: analyze equipment, aftermarket and other revenue and cost, complete assigned entries, and help explain variances, trends and period-over-period changes (about 20%).
Product cost analysis: help build tools to track cost trends and analyze material, freight, outsourcing and factory activity changes (about 20%).
Sales analysis: backlog reporting, modeling programs and tracking results against targets for the regional sales team.
Ad hoc reporting from ERP and consolidation systems for corporate, tax, legal and audit requests.
Take part in process improvement and special projects with cross-functional teams.
Required skills
Advanced Excel (lookups, pivot tables, business process modeling).
ERP and consolidation software, such as Oracle, Oracle EPM, HFM, Baan or Infor.
Database and query tools, such as Access or Power BI.
Clear written, spoken and visual communication with people at every level.
Finds root causes, recommends fixes and sees issues through to the end.
Education and experience
Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
Several years of accounting or finance experience, including month-end close.
Preferred: budgeting, standard cost or operations finance, manufacturing experience, and cross-functional project work.
